“I’m  okay,  Sir.  It’s  just  dust,”  she  said  with  a

               small laugh, amused by his overreaction as if something
               terrible  had  happened.  She  smiled  sweetly  to  reassure

               Adrian that she was fine. That sweet smile—Adrian had
               lost  count  of  how  many  times  he  had  melted  into  her

               gentle laughter.


                       “It looks like the sun has set. Shall we head home

               now,  Miss?” Adrian said, turning his face as if looking
               around,  though  he  was  hiding  his  slightly  reddened

               cheeks from Kalinda’s earlier teasing.


                       “All right, Sir.”


                       They  walked  down  the  hill  in  silence,

               accompanied only by the sounds of nature. The descent
               felt long until Adrian started a conversation.


                       “How  do  you  feel,  Miss?  You  look  happy,”  he

               asked.


                       “Really? Well, maybe. It’s been a long time since
               I’ve been outside like this,” she replied. “Thank you so
