“I’ll go ahead now, see you tomorrow!” he said,
jogging down the hallway.
I waved and smiled, thinking back to our
conversation.
“Alright, take care!”
Days continued as usual, and my friendship with
Jeffrey grew closer. But then came a truth I hadn’t
expected.
Lily—my close friend—also liked Jeffrey. She
had liked him since the first day of school. I slowly
began to feel that I shouldn’t get too close to him. And
because of that, I kept all my feelings to myself.
And perhaps, no one will ever know.
