of a rainy afternoon. For that reason, her classmates often
called her “Melodi Hujan”
At first, they weren’t very close. Melodi Senja, in
her exuberance, found Melodi Hujan hard to approach,
while Melodi Hujan thought Melodi Senja was too noisy.
But one day, when their teacher asked each student to
perform their talent on the school’s small stage, fate
changed everything.
When it was Melodi Hujan’s turn, she played a
melody full of sorrow and loneliness. Her pianika
whispered as though telling the story of endless rain. The
entire audience fell silent. Only Melodi Senja felt
something stir within her at those notes—as if they were
calling to her.
When Melodi Hujan finished, the hall was still.
Only the wind mingled with the faint drizzle outside.
Then Melodi Senja stepped forward and, without
hesitation, began to strum her guitar, following the
melody that Melodi Hujan had just played. Melodi
