Unlike  Angub’s  excitement,  Swa  looked  at  the
               book  and  then  at him with concern. A sense of unease

               crept into her.


                       She  grabbed  his  hand.  “You  must  be  careful.

               Don’t ignore the danger that might come.”


                       Angub  stroked  her  hand  to reassure her. “Don’t
               worry.  From  what  I’ve  read,  there’s  no  warning  of

               danger,” he said, smiling.


                       He  was  right—based  on  what  he  had read. But

               one mud-covered page had been missed.

                       Days  passed,  and  the  awaited  night  arrived.

               Angub and Swa stood at the mud’s edge, ready to chant
               the long-studied spell. Angub focused, and Swa held his

               hand tightly.
