This story begins at the end of the year 1938,
when Indonesia was still known as the Dutch East Indies.
It was a time when the spirit of resistance against Dutch
colonialism began to grow in various regions of
Indonesia. It was also a time filled with international
tension and innovation, as signs of World War II started
to appear. In Indonesia, the spirit of anti-colonial struggle
continued to rise, while around the world, the
development of technology and culture moved forward
rapidly.
In Indonesia, it was a time of preparation for a
major struggle against colonial rule, while also dealing
with the global impact of conflicts and political changes.
However, this story is about the journey of two siblings
named Jaka Wiratmaja and his younger sister, Laras
Ningsih. They were siblings who loved each other
deeply, with only four years of age difference. Since they
were little, their mother had taught them the importance
of loving and caring for each other, and their father
always reminded them to protect one another. Sadly, they
lost their father when Jaka was five years old, followed
by their mother’s death when Jaka was nine and Laras
