The Girl in the Mirror

Laura stood at the gate of her new house in
Damyang, South Korea. After her dad died, her mom
wanted to start fresh. They moved from Seoul to an old
traditional house that used to belong to Laura's
grandfather.
The house was near a bamboo forest. It was very
quiet. Laura found a storage room in the back. Inside,
there was a big old mirror with a wooden frame. That
night, she saw something strange.
A girl, about her age, was in the mirror. She had
long hair and wore a school uniform. She smiled and
said, "Hi, I'm Clara."
Clara became Laura’s friend. At her new school,
Laura felt alone. Her accent was different and she was
