Years later, Laura came back to Damyang. The
house had been fixed, and the mirror was in the attic.
When she looked into it, she thought she saw a school
uniform and a soft smile.
"Goodbye, Hae-won," Laura whispered. "I’ll
remember you."
The wind blew through the bamboo trees, and the
house felt peaceful at last.
