shy. But Clara was always waiting at home. They talked,

               played, and Clara told her stories about the old house.


                       "A  girl  disappeared  in  this  house  a  long  time
               ago," Clara said one night. "No one ever found her."



                       Laura kept talking to Clara, even when her mom
               got  worried.  Her  mom  thought  Laura  was  just

               pretending.

                       Strange things happened. Laura heard footsteps at

               night.  Doors  opened  by themselves. The mirror fogged
               up even when the air was dry. One day, Laura found an

               old diary in a hidden drawer. The name on it was "Kim
               Hae-won."



                       The girl who wrote it felt very lonely. Her family
               left her. She talked to the mirror every day. The last page

               said, "If I can’t have a friend while I'm alive, I’ll find one
               after I die."
