scholarship to study abroad. It was an opportunity that
once seemed impossible. With a trembling hand and
wide eyes, she called her mother, who wept with joy.
They had come so far, from the ashes of heartbreak to the
mountaintop of renewal.
Later that night, they sat together on the
apartment balcony. The city lights twinkled like stars.
Fira looked up at the sky, where she imagined her father
smiling down at her.
“I made it, Papa,” she whispered.
And though the road ahead was still long, she
knew she would walk it with courage.
