breathing was ragged, their bodies covered in sweat
despite the chill in the night air.
“Kian,” Lira whispered, stopping suddenly and
pulling Kian's arm behind a thick bush. “I'm not sure we
can keep running away like this. There are more of
them.”
Kian, who was holding a small knife with
trembling hands, turned to Lira. “So, what can we do? If
we stop, they'll kill us!”
Lira let out a long breath. “I'm just saying, we
need a plan. It's not just about running away.”
Suddenly, the sound of cold laughter came from
behind them. From behind the mist, a large figure in
gleaming black armor emerged. Behind him, a dozen
shadowy warriors armed with magic spears stood guard.
The figure spoke, his voice like a vibrating metallic
clang.
