“This reward is not for finding treasure,” he said.
“But because you’ve lost, betrayed, cared… and chosen
to keep going.” Andy took the object—warm in his hand.
The light inside it pulsed softly, as if alive, to his touch.

“It’s a key. It will show you the way whenever
you feel lost,” the old man said. “Not to where you want
to go, but to where your heart needs you.”

Mep looked at Andy again. “You’ve grown
               stronger than I thought.”

                       “Is this magic?” Andy asked.

The old man laughed softly. “If you believe,
               maybe it is.”
He walked away slowly, leaving them with a single
sentence that echoed far and wide: “Because the most
important adventure is not finding treasure… But finding
               direction when all seems lost.”

Andy looked at the compass in his hand. The rain
had stopped, but the journey had just begun. “Mep,
maybe the real treasure isn’t just the signs on the map.”

Mep paused, then said softly, “Sometimes it’s not
the destination that matters, but how we get there.” Andy
