The Last Guardian of the Sky
By: Nathanael Bennanda Samuel
Dusk began to creep across the sky, leaving traces
of orange on the clouds surrounding the small village
where Kian lived. The village is located on the edge of
one of the floating islands, far from the hustle and bustle
of the big city. The large shady trees seemed to protect
the wooden houses from the wind that kept crashing
gently, carrying the faint scent of the sea.
Kian sat in front of his small hut, looking at the
cozy scenery, his hands twisting a small knife as if he
had nothing to do.
“Uh, Kian!” a female voice broke the silence.
Lira walked over with light steps, carrying a basket full
of wildflowers. “You're still playing with that knife.
Don't you get bored?”
