“Hi mom, dad. I’m sorry… I know you must hate
me… or my family. But I’m here to apologize for…
everything,” Victoria said with a trembling voice at the
gravesite of Alexander’s parents.
Not long after, the sound of footsteps softly came
from behind. It was Xander.
He stood a few steps behind Victoria, listening
without saying a word.
“My father has been arrested, mom, dad. He
confessed. I… I still can’t believe it. But it’s the truth.
And I have to accept it,” Victoria shared.
Victoria turned around. Their eyes met. There
was no anger there, only pain and longing.
“I’ve lost everything, Xander,” she said softly.
Xander walked closer. “Me too, Vic. But
maybe… we don’t have to lose each other.”
Silence. But not awkward. Peaceful. Xander
extended his hand.
