gather, one afternoon he brought an old piece of paper he
had found in his grandfather’s rice barn.
“Hi, Siti,” Arman greeted hesitantly.
Siti looked up from her book, a bit surprised.
“Oh, Arman, what is it?”
“I... I found this in the storage. It looks like an old
letter. You like reading historical stuff, right? Maybe you
can figure out what it means,” he said as he handed her
the paper.
Siti took the paper with curiosity. The
handwriting had faded, but it was still legible:
"For Independence, we entrust this message.
Keep fighting, even if time takes us away."
“This... it seems like a letter from a freedom
fighter,” Siti murmured, her eyes lighting up.
Seeing her excitement, Arman felt relieved.
“Why do you think this letter was in my grandfather’s
barn?” he asked.
